Hiking   I enjoy a nice easy short hike so my favorite hikes fall into that category. Anna Ruby Falls is about a mile round trip hike on a paved trail mostly along the creek to a beautiful twin waterfall. This is a National Forest Property inside Unicoi State Park off HWY 356 just outside of Helen. For more information go to the Anna Ruby rated website. On the way there you will pass by one of two parking lots just off HWY 356. Stop and park there and follow the Lake trail. It is about a mile roundtrip hike almost entirely along the lakeshore. There is even a floating bridge to cross. For more information on Unicoi check out this website. Minnehaha Falls is just a short hike to a lovely waterfall it is just aliitle hard to find. Other Fun Activities   Alpine Putter Golf in Helen is a unique 18 hole putter golf course that makes use of the natural terrain which means you get to go up and down the hill. It is a lot of fun. After a round of golf you can take your scorecard to the Ice-cream shoppe next door for a discount on some cool treats. Pirates Cove in Helen is a fun atmosphere with pirates theme. You go on a adventure. It's interesting. They offer free icecream afterwards.There is a two dollar parking fee. It's located on the backroads of Helen. COOL RIVER TUBING is a great way to cool off from the summer heat with a cool, relaxing float down the Chattahoochee River. For more information go to the Cool River Tubing website. BACK to TOP
